About
Biography
I'm Ryan Barrett, an evolutionary astrologer based in Chicago. I help people who are ready to understand themselves at a deeper level use their birth chart as a living map of their soul's design, so they can move through life with greater clarity, curiosity, and freedom. I have studied astrology and the metaphysical arts for more than three decades and have worked with clients since 1999. I spent six years in close study with the late Barbara J. Junceau, whose mentorship shaped the way I read charts today. In 2024 I earned an Apprentice Certificate in Evolutionary Astrology from the Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology. I serve on the board of the Northern Illinois Chapter of NCGR and am a member of ISAR and OPA. I also teach We Are All Made of Stars, a beginner-friendly evolutionary astrology course, and co-host the podcast Astrology Off the Charts, as well as my own monthly astrology forecast, On the Map. I offer virtual sessions to clients worldwide.
About the astrologer
I have been a seeker my whole life. The questions "Why am I here?" and "What is my life's purpose?" led me to astrology, and they still guide my work. My aim is to create a safe, spiritually attuned space where you can explore who you are, why you're here, and how to live in alignment with your soul's intention. The chart is the map and this is the work.
Approach to readings
My sessions are a conversation. I read your birth chart as a living map of your personality, emotional patterns, strengths, growth edges, and life direction. Then we explore together how those themes are showing up in your life right now. Every placement exists on a spectrum, so I begin with the full range of what a placement can mean and let your lived experience guide where we go deeper. I practice evolutionary astrology, which treats the chart as a tool for awareness and conscious choice. Your chart describes the terrain. You decide how you move through it. First sessions run 90 minutes. We build the foundation of your natal chart and look at the timing that's active in your life right now. This session is the starting point for any deeper work together. Follow-up sessions focus on specific transits, decisions, or challenges you're moving through. All sessions are confidential and follow the OPA Ethical Guidelines.
